The Living Art Wildlife Park is now closed. The park was well loved by the public, and it was a shame to see the park go into receivership. For more Family Activity ideas, please check out our Things to See and Do page
The privately-run park occupies 7 hectares just 10 minutes from downtown Tauranga. A growing wildlife park close to Tauranga City —with everything from iguanas and turtles, to highland cattle and parrots. A ‘petting zoo’ allows children to handle guinea pigs and rabbits.
Originally set up as a sanctuary for injured wild animals and unwanted pets, it was opened to the public in 1998. The park is now home to more than 600 animals, birds and reptiles. You can even buy critters – sheep, guinea pigs, pheasants, and turtles. The park has picnic and barbecue areas, a fern display and giant chess, and a bouncy castle.
